The green-winged teal designed by Kip Richmond was chosen by the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife to appear on the 1992 waterfowl stamp and print.
This is the first time, since the program began in 1984, that a duck species has been featured on the Oregon Stamp and Print.
The monies received from the program are used to support wetland acquisition and enhancement projects plus crucial biological surveys in the state. Sales of stamps and prints are the sole funding source of the Oregon Waterfowl program. The legislative bill which created the program ear-marked funds only for activities that promote conservation and recreational use of migratory waterfowl.
